The West Lincoln netters captured a 6-1 victory over Bogue Chitto Wednesday afternoon in tennis action at the Brookhaven Country Club.

West Lincoln’s Katy and Kara Clark won the No. 1 Girls Doubles match against Bogue Chitto’s Kara Crosby and Kacey Leggett, 6-0, 6-0. Matt Gill of West Lincoln took the Boys Singles matchup against BC’s Dennis Roberts 6-2, 6-3. Caroline Laird wins in Girls Singles against Summer Martin 6-0, 6-1.

In Girls No. 2 Doubles action, Madison Franklin and Carlie Smith lost in a tie breaker 3-6, 6-3 0-1. West Lincoln won the rest of the matches by forfeit.

In late Monday’s action, the Bears lost to Natchez Cathedral 5-2 at Duncan Park.

The Bears took only two courts. The Clark sisters secure a victory in the No. 1 Girls Doubles over Cathedral’s Wesley Callaway and Natalie Fletcher, 6-1, 6-0. In No. 1 Boys Doubles match, Tay Applewhite and Gage Butler won against RJ Givens and Silas Whitaker, 6-1, 6-3, 1-0.

In Single matches, West Lincoln’s Caroline Laird lost to Lessley Dooley in a tie breaker, 6-2, 5-7, 0-1. Gill fell to Mark Isles, 0-6, 0-6.

In No. 2 Boys Doubles action, Cathedral’s Will Sasndel and Jackson Carpenter won 6-2, 6-3 over West Lincoln. Lady Bears’ Franklin and Smith fell to Courtney Carter and Abbey Massey 1-6, 2-6, in No. 2 Girls Double action. Cathedral’s Evan Webber and Paige Foster won the Mixed Doubles match 6-3, 6-2 over Bears’ netters Sebastian Harrell and Laura Leigh Dunaway.

West Lincoln resumes action Saturday as they gear up for a full of tennis in the Lincoln County tournament at Brookhill. Other teams joining the action are Bogue Chitto, Enterprise, Loyd Star and Wesson. Matches begins at 9 a.m.
