The West Lincoln Bears continue to roll in Region 7-2A baseball action Tuesday as they stomped the Bassfield Yellowjackets 12-2 at the Cow Palace to remained unbeaten in the district race.

The Bears (12-2, 5-0) visit Bassfield Friday for another big divisional contest. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.

West Lincoln quickly took care of business Tuesday night as they hammered Bassfield in the first inning to gain a 6-0 advantage and continued to add a run each in the second, third and fourth inning before enforcing the mercy rule in the fifth with a three run jolt.

Brady Wilson dominated the pitcher mound for the Bears to collect the win with 13 strikeouts and allowed only one walk.

Keenan McLaurin suffered the loss for the Yellowjackets with one strikeout and five walks. Alex Reese (0K, 2BB) also saw some action in relief.

Alex Neal sparked West Lincoln’s offense with a solo home run and a double. Ty Forman fueled the flames with a double and a single. Hitting safely were Bryce Temple, Tyler Moak and Jeremy Burns.

Malik Shorts recorded the only hit for the Yellowjackets on offense with a single.

In junior varsity action,  Bassfield escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Bears.

Beth Bivens absorbed the setback on the mound for the Bears with two strikeouts and two walks.

Turner Pyles was the top hitter at the plate for West Lincoln with a double. Hunter Maxwell and Bivens hit safely.
