“Brock has refined his pitches and has really learned how to locate his breaking ball,” said Coach Carter, in his second season as the Bobcats’ skipper. “He’s always had a live arm, but he’s now throwing consistently in the mid, to high, 80’s.”

After scoring one run in the first inning, and two in the second, the Bobcats had a big six-run third inning. Roberts led off with a single, followed by a Steven Ginn single. Tucker Lambert walked to load the bases. Joey Elliott was hit by a pitch to send one run across, and then Rudy Brumfield knocked in two with a clutch single. Brumfield and Nick Parker would later score in the inning.

“That was a big hit by Rudy,” said Coach Carter. “We had some good swings tonight. Ginn had two hits to lead the Bobcats at the plate. Keith Wells also had a single.

The Chiefs fell to 3-11 with the loss.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again Friday at Pelahatchie.

In junior varsity action,  the Bobcats scattered six hits in three innings to beat Pelahatchie 10-0. Cameron Price, Bo Smithers, Grant Leake, Conner Douglas, Brandon McKenzie, and Tucker Smith all had singles for Bogue Chitto.
