DAILY LEADER / TRACY FISCHER / Erich Fischer returns a serve in boys’ singles action against Sumrall Friday.

The Wesson Cobra netters were triumphant Friday afternoon as they eliminated the Sumrall Bobcats 6-1 in the opening round of the Class 3A state playoffs at Co-Lin’s Tennis Courts.

The Cobras advance to the second round and will have to travel to Philadelphia to battle the Philadelphia Tornadoes, Thursday at 3 p.m.
