The West Lincoln Bears blanked the Pisgah Dragons 6-0 in baseball action Thursday night to win Game One of the first round of the Class 2A state playoff race at Sandhill.

In Friday action, the Dragons came ready to play in Lincoln County as they denied the Bears a sweep with a 11-5 victory at the Cow Palace to force a decisive Game Three contest back at Sandhill Saturday.

The Bears climbed back into the win column after shaking off a little rust as they clobbered the Dragons in the fourth inning with a five run jolt to increase their lead to 6-0 and held Pisgah scoreless to secured the win.

Senior Brady Wilson dominated the pitcher mound for the Bears with 11 strikeouts and two walks.

Jay Hales suffered the loss for Pisgah with four strikeouts and two walks.

Tyler Moak provided the offensive charge to lead West Lincoln’s offense with a solo home run and a single. Ty Forman contributed a double and a single. Wilson ripped a pair of singles. Chase Buckles had a double. Hitting safely were Jeremy Burns, Alex Neal and Lofton Sills.

Hales was the top slugger for the Dragons at the plate with three singles. Quinton Rabon and Sloan Session hit a single apiece.

Pisgah 11, West Lincoln 5 

The Pisgah Dragons came ready to play Friday night as they hammered the Bears early to take a 3-0 lead in the first inning.

West Lincoln answered in the bottom of the second inning as they managed to get on the scoreboard and trim into Pisgah’s lead by pushing across one run.

The Dragons continued their hot hitting streak in the third thru the sixth innings as they drilled West Lincoln with a 8-1 run to secure a 11-2 lead before heading into the final inning.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, West Lincoln refused to lie down quietly and made a great effort to charge back but could not overcome Pisgah’s large lead as the Bears score only three runs.

Aidan Bradford pitched the complete game for the Dragon collecting six strikeouts and gave up five walks.

Jeremy Burns absorbed the setback for the Bears with one strikeout and no walks. Seth Bivens (2K, 0BB) saw some action on the mound in relief.

Ty Forman and Bryce Temple was the top hitters for West Lincoln with a pair of single apiece. Alex Neal provided a double and a single. Tanner Boutwell had a double and Brady Wilson singled.

Quinton Rabon sparked the Dragons’ offensive with two double and a single. Aidan Bradford contributed a double and a single. Don Ragsdale hit a single.
