Co-Lin football players sign scholarships

CO-LIN MEDIA / NATALIE DAVIS / DAMPEER SIGNS WITH AUBURN - Copiah-Lincoln Community College center Xavier Dampeer of Mendenhall (seated second from left) has signed with the Southeastern Conference Champion Auburn Tigers. Dampeer (6-2, 300) was a leader on for the Wolfpack offense this season. He moved from the defensive side of the ball to center and started in all nine games for the Wolfpack. Dampeer was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23, Mississippi Association of Community/Junior College (MACJC) First Team All-State, and the MACJC Most Valuable Offensive Lineman. In his two years at Co-Lin, the Wolfpack posted a 16-5 record, winning the MACJC State Championship in 2012. CO-LIN MEDIA / NATALIE DAVIS / JACKSON SIGNS WITH UAB - Copiah-Lincoln Community College defensive back Kalen Jackson of Magee (seated center) has signed with the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers. Jackson (6-1, 205) accounted for 27 tackles and was tied for the team lead with two interceptions. He was named Mississippi Association of Community/Junior College (MACJC) First Team All-State. In his two years at Co-Lin, the Wolfpack posted a 16-5 record, winning the MACJC State Championship in 2012. CO-LIN MEDIA / NATALIE DAVIS / JACKSON SIGNS WITH UAB – Copiah-Lincoln Community College defensive back Kalen Jackson of Magee (seated center) has signed with the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers. Jackson (6-1, 205) accounted for 27 tackles and was tied for the team lead with two interceptions. He was named Mississippi Association of Community/Junior College (MACJC) First Team All-State. In his two years at Co-Lin, the Wolfpack posted a 16-5 record, winning the MACJC State Championship in 2012. Johnson (6-5, 305) is the first Co-Lin player to sign with Mississippi State since 2007. In his two years at Co-Lin, the Wolfpack posted a 16-5 record, winning the MACJC State Championship in 2012. CO-LIN MEDIA / NATALIE DAVIS / JOHNSON SIGNS WITH MSU – Copiah-Lincoln Community College defensive lineman Jocquell Johnson of Jackson has signed with Mississippi State University. Johnson (6-5, 305) is the first Co-Lin player to sign with Mississippi State since 2007. In his two years at Co-Lin, the Wolfpack posted a 16-5 record, winning the MACJC State Championship in 2012. CO-LIN MEDIA / NATALIE DAVIS / NICHOLS SIGNS WITH UCA - Copiah-Lincoln Community College wide receiver De'Vante Nichols of Pearl has signed with the University of Central Arkansas Bears. The UCA Bears are members of the Southland Conference and recently hired former Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College head coach Steve Campbell to lead the football program. Nichols (5-8, 170) had 13 receptions for 197 yards and one touchdown. In his two years at Co-Lin, the Wolfpack posted a 16-5 record, winning the MACJC State Championship in 2012. Adams (6-4, 275) missed nearly his entire freshman season after suffering a serious leg injury. He was named Mississippi Association of Community/Junior College (MACJC) Second Team All-State. In his two years at Co-Lin, the Wolfpack posted a 16-5 record, winning the MACJC State Championship in 2012.
